Soft Hearts (June 15 2014)

Remember how last week I told you the story about Clive's mom learning the gospel before and then they discontinued because his father was a skeptic? Well this week his family was also able to partake in salvation.   On Wednesday night we met Clive, Brother Baker, and Bishop Holder at the temple to do his family's work.  He was baptized for 8 of his family members, including his skeptical father.  Sister Leiatuaua and I were able to do the work for his mother with simple faith.  I know that she accepted the ordinance. I was baptized for her and after I looked at Clive who was standing outside the font watching and he had the biggest grin on his face! When I got out of the font we stood and watched sister Leiatuaua be baptized for some of his aunties.  He gave me a little side hug and was like "it was really great when you baptized me mum" SO SWEET! Then Sister Leitatua was confirmed for her.  I have never felt so grateful to be apart of someone's salvation.  I want to find a family before the end of my mission that we can take to the temple! THAT'S MY GOAL!!

Other than Clive's baptism we have had an amazing week of trying to get people to church and getting members to all of our lessons.  As a district we set a goal that if we could reach all of our district goals we could go to Nando's on p-day.  It was so much fun to work together and to help eachother.  We called and texted every day to check and see where we were at. Our district is super unified because we all have been in the same areas for the past 10 weeks.  It's fun because our ward is really transient so a lot of our investigators will move frequently and so we have all swapped investigators at least once.  On Saturday sister Leiatuaua had hurt her back and she needed to rest so while she was sleeping I spent 4 hours calling every phone number in our area book.  CRAZY! I invited every person to come to church.  most of them were like... uhhhh i'm busy but we got some return appointments out of it so that was awesome.

So yesterday we were determined to get people to church of die.... seriously we have 3 baptismal dates we should be getting people to church but hossain had to work (still working on the whole Sabbath day thing with him) and macy and kayla were our last hope so we got a member to drive us to their house on Sunday morning to go pick them up.  Sweet little Kayla came outside and was like "I don't think I can go I have to clean up" and we were like we'll help you! So we went in and we were helping clean up and then Kayla was like "mom says we have to go somewhere..." AHHHH NOOOOO! my heart was broken! But my companion is way bold and I love her and she was like can we talk to your mom? So Zita came out and we asked her if Kayla could come and she was like sure if you can get her a ride home and we were like OF COURSE so kayla FINALLY came to church.  None of the other people that we went and visited on Sunday morning and invited to come and said that they would come came but we'll get them this week. Satan thinks that he can stop us... but he's wrong! :) I've seen that time and time again this week!

On Saturday morning we were supposed to have a member come with us to this lesson but last minute they cancelled which wasn't very good because we were planning on them giving us a ride and we wouldn't have time to get there by bike. I was so sad! but my companion once again is so in tune with the spirit and knew exactly which member heavenly father had prepared to help us. We called them and 20 minutes later we were all teaching together in the living room of Juliet.  With Heavenly Father's help we can just side step all of Satan's obstacles.

I love this work. It's amazing. our investigators are doing so well! We taught hossain the word of wisdom on Saturday night with 2 friends that he brought along. it went so well and all 3 are keen to keep this health code to be closer to our father in Heaven. It was 2 of their 1st lessons but the spirit was so strong they couldn't deny it!

BE STRONG! BE FAITHFUL!
