G'day!
It is amazing here in the celestial
kingdom of heathridge. BUT REALLY! let's talk about how awesome my new
area, companion, and ward are. We are the only missionaries in the ward
which is actually really nice because you can more easily friendship
the members and you don't have to worry about crossing into the other
missionaries' territory. So where to begin. On Tuesday
we said goodbye to Elder Jenkins right after district meeting. It was
sad. but we are excited for him to start out on his new chapter of life
:) it was crazy though because since it was transfers and we were the
closest sisters area to the mission office we had Sister Lieataua with
us in the morning for district meeting since her companion had to leave
the day before to go down on the train to kalgoorlie (which is like an 8
hour train ride out to the middle of no where, it's where sister
atkinson is right now) we THEN after district meeting Sister Peivi was
with us because she and Elder Baptista missed their bus down to Albany
that morning so we were back in a 3 some. WE HAD SO MUCH TO DO! We
spent the day going around and doing our normal appointments, then
saying goodbye to everyone. We also made brownies for the 2nd counselor
in the bishoprick who had been acting as our ward mission leader since
dianella ward didnt' have one yet. It was amzing to see the change in
that ward. Before we came in the bishoprick weren't too keen on
missionaries. When we left Brother Jones told us that we had made a
HUGE difference in the ward. The ward now has a plan to work better with
the missionaries and the groundwork was laid to help the YSA in that
ward really start to come back into activity. Sister Jones told me and
Sister Payze that she thought of us as the children that she was never
able to have. As hard as that transfer was, I really really loved
serving in that ward, area, and I loved how much I grew as a deciple of
Jesus Christ. It really made me think of all the different ways that you
can do missionary work. Remember that there is no one right way to do
missionary work because there is no two people that are the same. As
missionaries we are helping PEOPLE, our brothers and sisters,
individuals, come unto Jesus Christ and that has to be done in a very
personal way guided by the Spirit.
On Wednesday
it was POURING rain, and so when we went to the office for transfers
everyone kinda smelled like wet dog hahah. Sister Hancock didn't fly in
until like 3 o'clock
that afternoon so I got the privledge of spending the day with Sister
Ensign!!!! and Sister Kanee! It was the best thing ever! I was so
happy!!!!!!!!! Then we went and picked up sister Hancock from the
mission home around 6 and we were able to go to dinner at the senior
missionarie's house because we had to pick up our phone (which was dead)
and our car keys (to a car with out any petrol in it hahah) by the time
we got back to the office to pick up the car it was like 7:30
and raining harder than I had ever seen before in my life. We got in
the car with our dead phone and realized our car didn't have gas and
neither of us knew how to get to our house hahahah. It was an adventure
but we made it home by 9 o'clock.
I LOVE HEATHRIDGE!! I LOVE MY COMPANION!!! I LOVE MY DISTRICT!! I LOVE MISSIONARY WORK!!
On coming into the area we were doubled in which is always hard to figure out what to do but we had awesome leaders (distric, zone, and especially ward mission leaders) that saved the day. We were able to get the information needed to be able to get a solid teaching pool going. Before we were even able to give our ward mission leader a call he called US! We were able to go over and talk to him about investigators to focus on and the specific familes to work with. We are revising the ward mission plan and he's helped us make resonable goals to keep us focused. The difference between being doubled into heathridge and maylands is like the difference between the celestial and the telestial kingdom.

On Friday
it was POURING rain. We were driving to go follow up with some formers
and some members. Before leaving the house I said "if anybody is crazy
enough to be out walking the streets in this weather I'm pulling over
and talking to them" the next minute we were driving and there was this
guy walking along side the road. i made sister hancock pull over and we
ran after him. We are going to see him in a couple of weeks when he is
on school vacation. IT WAS SO FUN!
On Saturday we were able to meet with Emily Fisher (our progressing investigator who had a date previously set) she is overcoming the challenge of smoking and so Sister Hancock and I prayerfully decided to teach her about the atonement and repentance. It was amazing. At the end of the lesson we had planned to invite her to be baptized on the 27th of September but when I went to say it the spirit strongly prompted me and by prompted I really mean wouldn't let me say anything unless I said October 5th. Emily teared up and asked me why I had said that date. I didn't know why honestly, I just knew it was what Heavenly Father wanted me to commit her to. Turns out that day is very special to her it's her nan's birthday and the day her little girl was supposed to be born. She knows that they are trying to help her make this huge step and have been helping guide her towards the gospel through out her life. After setting that date she knows that she will be able to give up smoking.

On Sunday
we were able to go to one of the most amazing ward councils I have ever
been to. Then they asked us to bear our testimonies in Sacrament
meeting. The ward LOVES us. Everyone is giving us refferrals and really
trying to build up their ward.
I LOVE serving with Sister Hancock. She's phenomenal. We are working on buliding trust with eachother. Trust in eachother's teaching skills and trust with eachother's opinon of eachother. I am really trying to make sure my companion's know that I need them. I think that is something that I struggle with is letting people help me, but the truth is that Heavenly Father wants to help us through other people, so I am trying to be humble and allow this to happen.

I love the growth that I feel personally as a
missioanry, I also love how tired I am at the end of every day here in
the Heathridge ward. I FEEL like a missionary. I can feel that people
here have been so prepared to hear the message of the restoration. We
went to a family that we thought might be less active (they aren't) but
they have a son who is and they told us they have been praying for
sister missionaries to come to the ward because they feel that he would
connect with us better than the elders. they asked us to come by this
week and to see him. it's wonderful to feel that you are doing the
Lord's work in HIS time.
I LOVE YOU ALL!!! HAPPPPPPYYYYYYY BBBBIIIIRRRRTTTTHHHHHDDAAAAYYY YY RYYYLLLEEEEEE!!!!xoxoxoxoxox
xoxo
