It's crazy to me how much I really think about, care about, pray about, and love these people here in Australia. I can remember when I was back at BYU and the first thing I thought in the morning when my alarm went off was how much longer can I sleep before I don't have enough time to get ready and get going. Being on a mission really helps you learn to love and to focus on what Heavenly Father would want us to do. I think that's the biggest thing that I have taken from this past week is love, love for my investigators, love for my members, love for my area, and love for my companion. I LOVE MISSIONARY WORK!
Every day this week we have extended a baptismal invitation. That's because how can people say yes if they haven't even been asked. We are trying to show our love for our brothers and sisters by INVITING AND INVITING AND INVITING!!! Probably the most exciting invitation we extended was with our investigator Dianna. She's from Taiwan and she's come to Australia to have a new culture. It's funny though because she's Asian and she has red hair.... hahahhaha you don't see that very often. I asked her if it was natural... she said no she's goes and get's it done every couple of weeks. We were able to go and teach her with one of our members and when Deb (that's the member) bore her testimony of the first vision Dianna said that she wanted to have the same experience. That's when we invited her. And then this Sundayshe came to church! She's just the sweetest and right now we are praying that she will be able to find a job because her's just ended and she's feeling really stressed about it.
There were so many good things that happened this week! On Tuesday night we went to go and heart attack this family that we met who is less active and part member. as we were standing outside their door writing the notes the door opened and we both actually gave each other a heart attack... ok ya that was a really lame joke sorry about that. But the wife who isn't a member was really excited to have us come and teach them and so they became new investigators and hopefully we'll be able to help them!
On Saturday night we were going around visiting people on the ward list that we didn't know when we went to this less active's house who's parents I met and taught a few times in Heathridge. They are the sweetest! The husband is the less active and the wife is the non member. She was asking all sorts of questions about why can't the world all just believe the same thing. Why do we all have to fight with each other. and Carl was so excited to talk to us about all his fond memories of seminary and young men's. We are going to go visit them on Saturdayand hopefully my new companion and I will be able to really help them come back to church!
I LOVED the women's meeting. I think that it is so inspired to have all the sisters gathering together! I love having the 8 year olds there too! They brought this extra strength to the sisters. They are so pure and they remind me of the words of the Savior in Matthew 18:3 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be conver ted, and become as little achi ldren, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."
I'm so grateful for our leaders in the church who seek to strengthen the members and help ALL of us return to live with our Heavenly Father.
I love this gospel and I'm excited to help more people this week and help them see the WHY of all that we do. This week I would invite each of you to consciously think about the principles of the gospel that you have lived and pray to recognize the blessings that have come from living the principle. :) I can promise that if you will do this you will come to better appreciate the gospel and the commandments that we all live.
