me and
sister simon had an earth shattering discovery this week... actually
this morning... the stripling warriors didn't dies so this idea that if
you don't get married in this life or die before you have the chance to
get married but it being ok because there is a stripling warrior waiting
for you in spirit paradise is in fact incorrect... so i guess i better
start working out better so when i get home i'll be able to find a
husband... because lets be honest... i'm getting a little chunky hahaha
so really though this week has been just another unbelievable
week of missionary work. When I last wrote you I'm pretty sure that I
told you that we were planning on having a double baptism on Saturday...
well Satan sucks and it didn't happen. On Monday night we stopped off
at Demitri's house to see how he was doing. We found that he had bought
a packet of cigarettes which I promptly confiscated and threw in the
rubbish bin. We reminded him of his commitment to God in which he
responded "I can't say anything God all ready knows." so we thought we
were good right? The next day we returned to him informing us that "he
is not baby and does not want to go and get his clothes wet and
everything was a load of bull... add in some choice words here" we were
devastated. Well we had a good cry and moved forward. Probably our biggest miracle this week has been Myles and his desire to do what's right. He is SO funny! He came to church on Sunday and one of the speakers said "so many of the youth today consider themselves spiritual and not religious..." myles promptly turned to me and was like "that's trippy man did you tell him about me?!" I quietly explained that no I had not told brother kenny anything about him and that obviously Heavenly Father is aware of him. Myles really liked that. Last night he told us that when he talks about the mormons to his friends he says "we" instead of "they" and he has almost gotten into a fist fight defending the book of mormon. Every time we talk to him he tells us more about what a miracle it is that Me and Sister Terry stopped him on the side of the road. He still has his own doubts but he says he is going to build on what he does know and he has faith that he will eventually be ok with everything. It's amazing to me because I didn't even realize that I was being led by the spirit when I asked him if he had time to talk about Jesus Christ. I guess that's how heavenly father works right? As long as we follow EVERY single good thought that comes into our minds we will be an instrument for good and for furthering his work.
That's what we are all supposed to do. I hope all of you have had the chance to see "The Work of Salvation" it's amazing and it really explains how missionary work NEEDS the members. Honestly, the people that we find on our own drop off so fast. But the ones that the members introduce us to are GOLDEN! WE NEED THE MEMBERS! Everyone PLEASE help the missionaries in your area. Don't be afraid to share the good news of the Gospel. It's blessed your life, have the faith that it will bless your friend's life.
I love you guys! thank you for all of your prayers and support. Be grateful for the families that you are in. We are so blessed compared to the rest of the world... even if Australia isn't a 3rd world country... families are more destroyed here than anywhere I have lived before.
