since moving away from liberty square and my room mates i now live with my aunt and uncle and their adorable 2 boys in orem. it really is the perfect situation for me because they are leaving in june for the whole summer to alabama and so i'm going to house sit with whit and gigi. i am so grateful to be able to live with them and to be able to work full time now at the MTC and save up my money for a mission! i found this daily schedule for happiness on pintrest a few months ago but i didn't really feel like it was possible to follow because i couldn't really dedicate myself to it since my schedule was easily changed depending on what my room mates were doing. but now i don't have room mates, which is going to be a new challenge for me but i feel really optimistic about how it will help me to grow to become a better person!!! WOO yay for being better, stronger, and happier :)
daily schedule for happiness
after waking up
rise early: this usually isn't too much of a problem for me since i work at 8 every day but i would like to start getting up earlier so i can really enjoy my morning, and not feel rushed.
exercise or go for a walk: i love in the summer mornings when it is quiet and all the world is still but the sun is up and it feels like it is just you awake it gives me time to think and that is my favorite time to go running
eat fruit: there is nothing more refreshing than eating fruit for breakfast my favorite is bannanas or strawberries and milk mmmmmmm
write a list of 10 things you are grateful for: i didn't get a chance to do this this morning but i think i'd like to do it now
1. a comfortable bed, my bed at my aunt's house is amazing! i slept so good and it doesn't squeek everytime i move in the night like my bed at liberty square
2. my best friend gabby who is up for anything. i do get worried about feeling isolated not living with my best friends but i know that gabby won't let that happen she's the best
3. cell phones that allow me to talk to my mom every morning when we are on our way to work
4. red solo cups that let me eat ceral on the way to work so i won't starve at the MTC
5. my car even though it doesn't have power windows, and it's falling apart a little bit right now my car is awesome and i'm grateful that i have it so i don't have to ride the bus because i am terrified of public transporataion
6. my job at the MTC that i know i talk about way way too much but it really is the best job in the whole entire world
7. my aunt's example with her kids. i really admire her the way she is so patient with her boys and how she lovingly teaches them things they need to know
8. being able to go to BYU. i really don't want to go to my class tonight but then i think about how grateful i am that my school is so wonderful and that i can learn in an enviornment that shares my standards
9. the warm weather it makes me so happy when i go outside and it is warmer out there than it is in the health clinic i love the summer and it makes me feel more awake and alive
10. an incredibly loving heavenly father who i know i can turn to when i start feeling discouraged throughout the day and who will help me with change
create and follow a "to do" list of 5 items: here are mine for the day
1. send my letter
2. make brownies for sister barber on her p day tomorrow
3. work out
4. find out how much my writing text book is going to cost
5. write a letter to elder jon rogers
throughout the day
give someone a sincere compliment
if someone tried to engageyou in gossip then change the subject: gossip is something that truly eats away at people. i never had a problem with gossip in high school but i feel as i get older it becomes more and more a temptation. whenever i am tempted to gossip i try to think about how i would feel if i found out people were talking to me and it helps me refrain (good word choice right?!)
organize your desk: i need to make more notices today for my desk
complete your work on time: since i am working full time now i need to figure out what my schedule is for starting all the filing and scanning
help someone do something: there is nothing more satisfying than helping someone get something done faster so that way you both can enjoy some free time
after work
spend 30 minutes doing a hobby: for me that may be getting some more stuff ready for retreat for girls i have some fun plans brewing in my mind (once again really weird word choice but whatevs) or i might read the lucky one that i borrowed after seeing the movie this last weekend
P.S. if you are looking for a great movie to see for sure go see the lucky one with zac effron it was fantastic!
clean the house for 20 minutes: i am still in the process of getting all of my stuff organized in my new room so spending 20 minutes would really help get that in order
watch TV for no more than 1 hour: the trick for me is deciding whether i should watch supernatural or try and get into vampire diaries like sydney is always telling me to do
read for at least 30 minutes: i'm going to use this time to get some good studying of preach my gospel and the book of mormon in
go to bed by 10' o clock: i don't know how often i will get to bed right at 10 but that would be awesome if i could and then getting up early to run would probably be a possibility for sure i want to be asleep by 11:30
so i'm going to try this out. we will see how much of a difference it will make in my life... i'll keep ya posted
xoxo

Kalli I love this post, you are an amazing person. :) I second your advice to go see "The Lucky One", it is amazing and right now I am reading the book and there are many things that are the same however, there are parts that are not in the book or vice versa.
