where's my badge? i ate it... it looked like chocolate.... (May 26)

This week has be AMAZING! I love being a missionary, can I just tell you that? But really it's the best thing ever :)
So we have been working a lot with Shae (our less active member neighbor) and Shane this week.  Shae is Shane's "guardian" I can't remember if I told you guys that.  Any way so we pretty much teach them every night, it's awesome! Shae has been in and out of the church for years but he is really trying to turn around this time.  A lot of the people in the ward, and I'll admit sometimes me, have a hard time that he is going to last, but I have to remind myself that Heavenly Father see's our potential and really there is nothing that can hold us back if we stay true to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We invited Shane to be BAPTIZED! and he's really excited about it! He wants Shae to do his baptism, but Shae won't be worthy to do it for at least 3 months according to the bishop.  The baptismal date is set for June 15th, so we will see if Shane decides just to do it then or to wait and have Shae do it when he is able.  Shane is LOVING being involved with the youth.  This week the activity was rock climbing and me and Sister Simon were able to go (and not rock climb) but hang out with the youth because Shane was there and also we had 2 other girls from Sudan there, Sunday and Rose. The youth here are really struggling to stay active so me and Sister Simon are going to start going to the activities each week to help strengthen the youth.  There are several less active young women that we are becoming close friends with.  I LOVE THE YOUNG WOMEN!
We had a meeting with the young women's presidency this week to talk about each girl and what we can do to help.  Most girls come from part member families here and have no or little support in coming.  It was really funny when we sat down with the presidency because they were like "Sister Wyatt where are you from?!" and I was kind of confused because pretty much my accent gives it away every time I was like ".... Utah?" and they were like really shocked because apparently all the sister missionaries that come over from America are not stylish and are super stand offish... and they think I'm really "trendy" HA funny right?
Yesterday in sacrament meeting the high councilman gave a really great talk about the sacrament and I really loved this quote "My attitude towards the sacrament is a reflection of my relationship with the Savior." I think that sometimes we get casual in the gospel.  We take it for granted since it has been a part of us for so long.  When we realize how much the Savior can help us that is when behavior changes, that is when repentance occurs.  Repentance has such a negative connotation, and it makes me sad that for a lot of my life I felt like it was bad that I had to repent.  Really, repentance is the BEST thing we can do each day.  It's the opportunity to change and become better, to learn for ourselves how Jesus Christ would act in each situation.  I love the scripture 2 nephi 10:23 "Therefore, cheer up your hearts and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves to choose the way of everlasting death of the way of eternal life." I love that we get to CHOOSE who we want to become and how we want to act and treat others.  That doesn't mean that it is easy, but anything that is worth having shouldn't come easy.
I love you all, I can really feel your love and support.  Thank you so much! Keep saying your prayers every day! read your scriptures, it will make you happy and strong I promise :)
